After two decades working in newsrooms across California, Julissa has transitioned her talents beyond the anchor desk—bringing her passion for people, public service, and storytelling into new spaces that uplift and empower her community.

A proud graduate of the University of Southern California, Julissa built a trusted reputation as a thoughtful, engaging voice—always focused on connecting with others and telling stories that matter. Today, she channels that same energy and experience into work that spans media, public affairs, and community engagement.

Martha Guzman is Founder and Partner at OGV Consulting. She has over 25 years of experience in state and federal policy strategies and implementation, specializing in sustainable solutions across energy, water, agriculture, and the environment.

She has served as Regional Administrator for the US Environmental Protection Agency, Commissioner at the California Public Utilities Commission, and Deputy Legislative Affairs Secretary to the Governor of California. Earlier in her career, Martha worked on addressing agricultural rural infrastructure, health and safety issues, and workers’ rights. She has been involved in political campaigns at the local, state and federal level and founded Communities for New California in 501(c)4 focused on voter engagement.

Martha holds a Master’s in Agricultural and Resource Economics from UC Davis and a Bachelor’s in International Economics from Georgetown University.

Veronica, Partner at OGV, is an established advocate and policy expert. She is an owner and senior advisor at Cruz Strategies, a Sacramento-based government relations and public affairs firm where she has focused on elevating the needs and contributions of various education and nonprofit clients.

Before joining Cruz Strategies in 2017, Veronica was the Vice President of External Relations for the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU). Her advocacy focused on higher education issues, including access, affordability, state financial aid, and K-12 teacher preparation. Previously, she served as Executive Director of State Government Relations for the University of Southern California, representing the university’s academic, medical, and research interests in Sacramento.

She holds a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California.
